I see all these amazing sewing projects from you all and I'm so jealous, all the primmy dolls, sheep just everything you guys are all very talented! I took sewing in high school and have a machine but don't think I could attempt all those wonderful projects you do. I wish I could because I love prim stuff and so expensive to purchase but I don't dare try to make them. I think I might try just some fabric bowl fillers and see how they come out when I find some time. Wish me luck. If you know of any simple patterns please let me know.
Tam,
ReplyDeleteI haven't sewn in quite awhile myself. I can't seem to find the time or sit still long enough.
But if you have sewed before, it's like riding a bicycle. Once you learn, you never forget. I keep telling myself I should get back to sewing too.
You can find free patterns online at Pattern mart or Just type in free sewing patterns for anything you would like to make. The internet is a wealth of information and freebies.
Hope this helps.
Have a good day.

I think the first prim ornie I made were round snowman faces. After I cut two circles the size I wanted I sewed them together right sides together (dosen't matter if you are using muslin) and left about an inch or two open to stuff and then turned them right side out, stuffed and finished sewing. I made a grunge of 1 cup instant coffe, got the cheap kind from SaveAlot store, 1 tsp spices (ginger and cinn. are good to use. Then I boiled 1 cup of water and added the dry ingredients and once it cooled some I added about 1/4th cup of vanilla. You don't need exact ingredients, just do till you like the smell. I painted the grunge on till both sides were saturated with a cheapo paint brush. Bake in oven at 175 till nice and dry. I decorated mine with glass glitter and old buttons and made homespun bow ties. Filled an old wood bowl with them. Crow shapes are easy too, do them them with the same grunge, use black fabric to start with and you won't have to paint them black.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone, gonna try these soon..........
